Democracy wall
Teaching pedagogy
The teaching methods consisting of explanation, demonstration and hands-on practical are ideal to impart the information about the Web2 tools without creating a heavy and sleepy atmosphere.
The use of democracy walls and MetaCards provide all the participants with the opportunity to view their feelings without any restrictions.

Day 1: 23rd July 2012
The day was smooth and light going. After an introduction of the participants followed by a presentation of the objectives and expectations of the course, the ways and means to trim down an internet search were looked at.
The use of RSS feeds to stay in touch with the latest developments for selected fields of interest was another very interesting feature.

Outcome of the day: It should be possible  searches should become more focused while being up-to-date with the latest developments in selected fields of concerns.

Day 2: 24th July 2012
Different web2 tools designed to facilitate collaborative works have been discussed.
  • Google docs
  • Wikis
  • VoiP – Skype, Google Chat
It was a whole new world that was unraveled with enormous possibilities and waiting to be tapped.

Outcome of the day: Of the 3 categories of Web2 tools tackled during the day, "Google docs" has the most potential to make my working life easier in the short term.

Day 3: 25th July 2012
During the 3rd day of the training, the creation and use of blogs, the value of Twitter not just as a socializing tool and the use of Google maps were covered.

Outcome of the day: While these tools are very interesting to use, they are not likely to have the same impact on my professional life as those learnt during the first two days.

Closing remarks for the first 3 days: The schedule had gradually become more and more hectic but since I had been discovering and learning new things I did not feel the pressure but am eagerly waiting for the next day.

Day 4:  26th  July 2012

A busy day learning the ins and out of LinkedIn and Facebook.

Outcome of the day: The possibilities of these social networking are slowly coming into light. Don't want to think that tomorrow will be last day.

Day 5: 27th July 2012

Last day was relative lighter than the previous days. Had an overview of IMARK and a practical session using the CD.

Feedback evaluation on-line form was filled.

Outcome of the day: Lots of information is available on the CD waiting to be looked at and put into practice. Hope to overcome time constraint.

Outcome of the week: A very busy and fruitful week which opened our eyes to the tremendous potential of the Web waiting to be harnessed.
